Clinical Feedback
Japan has the second highest number of MRI units in the OECD after the United States. However, the number of radiologists per million radiologists is the lowest level among OECD countries. Therefore, the number of Japanese radiologists required for interpretation of MRI, including cardiac MRI, is absolutely insufficient. The use of CASIS software has dramatically reduced the time required for cardiac MRI analysis. CASIS software has greatly accelerated our cardiac MRI research.
QIR-MR is an improved software for MRI cardiac analysis. Functional analysis based on Deep Learning algorithm increases accuracy and speed of results. First Pass perfusion module assesses quantification of lack of gadolinium enhancement. It allows a better accuracy of area quantification between healthy areas and pathologic areas. Furthermore, clinical objectivity is improved. Quantification of Late Gadolinium Enhancement for each segment improves viability analysis and comparison between cardiac MRI exams. Original tools as aortic compliance and estimation of extracellular volume give advanced results for clinical practice and research issues. For clinical practice, the software ergonomics have been optimized with clinician’s feedback. Saving time is a priority for better work.
The QIR software from the company CASIS has arrived on the market on tiptoe less than 3 years ago and is progressively emerging as a new force. It was initially designed to fulfil all demands in post-treatment for cardiac MRI. It now starts to integrate solution for cardiac CT imaging making it one of the only softwares combining MRI and CT solutions.For now, all demands for clinical routine examinations are supported by a robust deep-learning segmentation algorithm, making the processing easier and faster.Special customers demands for specific evolutions are also swiftly responded thanks to the flexibility of the backdoor developing team.
We have been looking for a user-friendly solution to simplify our cardiac function analysis workflow. We chose Anim’Heart for several reasons. Firstly, we liked the fact that Anim’Heart is dedicated to small animal imaging. Hence, no voxel rescale is required prior to the image importation, and the measured quantities are expressed with relevant units such as millimetres and microliters. We also appreciated the ability of the software to sort out a patient folder to automatically display the long- and short-axis slices. These functionalities have saved us time and efforts. Another interesting aspect of Anim’Heart is its simplicity of use and interactivity. The main functionalities are gathered in a single panel including several widgets to control the image visualization, as well as convenient contouring tools. Anyone with limited computer knowledge can rapidly take in hand the software. We have been using Anim’heart for more than three years now, with positive feedback from our team members. We can furthermore testify of the high availability of CASIS’ staff, always providing an efficient answer to our demands.
